Agnostic Front – The American Dream Died – Review

Latest trial of the historical band from Usa, whose career has been dragged since 1982 till nowadays.
This latest album keeps the tipical style of the band, with no surprises for the Agnostic Front fans.
After the spoken intro and some instrumental clank, we are introduced to the title track: one minute and a half of fury that punches the listeners.
Then immediatly comes “Police Violence”, even more faster than the previous one.
“Only In America” is pretty similar to the opening track due to the same lenght and style, unlike “Test Of Time” that sounds much more metallic and technical.
“We Walk The Line”, is characterized by powerful riffs, while it’s hard to ignore the old school hardcore/street punk vocals in “Never Walk Alone”.
“Enough Is Enough” and “I Can’t Relate” are the most hasty songs in the record,  and “Old New York” recalls the band’s past as suggested by the chosen title.
In “Social Justice” we found more technical skill, with a bunch of solo to prove they can play like preppy metal players too, while “Reasonable Doubt” keeps the main line of the record.
“No War Fuck You”,  less than 40 seconds long, has a violent impact, and, afterwards, “Attack!” slows down keeping the fury, in over one minute.
“A Wise Man” is one of the closest moment to crossover thrash in the album, followed by the last  track “Just Like Yesterday”, an angry hardcore song yet catchy even for those who don’t support hardcore music.
To sum up, “The American Dream Died” is a well done hardcore record, uncomparable to a masterpiece, but still on the path the band efficently traced in the past.
