DISCOMOSTRO – Mostrofonia – Review

The first album of  Discomostro, the new project signed by Carlame (Skruigners, La Forcah), Miki and Manuel (Beer Killer) and Il Morla (Merdonald’s, Guacamaya) came out on the 26th of April and its title is “Mostrofonia”.
The album, produced by Professional Punkers, is made up of 10 punk hardcore tracks, that at times are very melodic like “Hollywood” and “Gennaio” and at times are faster like “Cavatappi” and “Mostro”. The lyrics are short , written in Italian and full of vitriol and nihilism. In my opinion, in this album, it is impossible not to find Skruigners’ mark. Carlame’s voice fit well for the kind of lyrics: from the first track, “Hollywood”, it’s like if the listener is struck by every single word straight in the face.
The title of the album is well-chosen: it’s a transmission of monsters that are inside or outside of us.
Musically speaking, all tracks are equal; the thing I like the most of this album is the lyrics, that sometimes are very close to poetry. Some of my favorites are “Cavatappi”, “Gennaio”,  “Mostro” and “Ascensore”.
It is a good album and I recommend it to all Skruigners’ lovers.
