BACK FROM THE STAKE – Against fascist attack a multimedia feminist project

Today we introduce you to “BACK FROM THE STAKE – Against fascist attack” a feminist project conceived and produced by Padiy. The idea was born after the discovering of a historical fact: on the 9th of January, 1979, a Roman feminist radio was attacked by some fascists who throw fire bombs and shot to the five women who were inside the radio. Padiy, after being invited by Non Una Di Meno Vicenza (Italian feminist group), decided to rework on one artwork from those years, producing a multimedia project, composed primarily by a flyer 40×60 cm printed on linoleum, expressing the energy of feminist resistance. As Padiy explains “the Pheonix stands for the possibility of rising from the ashes, and here’s the idea that if you touch one, we all fight back, and even if they try to burn us alive, we will never stop to be what we are and to fight for it.”
In the project, we also find a multilevel track with drone sounds and voices from an interview released by one of the women that survived the attack and transformed by Nàresh “Ran” Ruotolo and Francesco Zedde who work with drone and electro music.
