GOOD RIDDANCE – Peace In Our Time – Review

Here we are, with a culpable delay I’ m going to review, 9 years after the release of their previous studio album “My Republic”, the masters of melodic hardcore from Santa Cruz, Good Riddance, who released in April 2015 “Peace In Our Time”, always for Fat Wreck Chords. You immediately feel that this album is a slap in the face: awesome choruses, speed, rhythm section and riffs. 14 tracks. 2 minutes each. This is punk rock! “Disputatio” and “Contrition” and here we go: two fast and direct tracks. “Grace And Virtue” is the perfect classical ballad. The choruses are precise and very powerful. “Dry Season”, the single, is the ultimate melodic punk track, “Teachable Moments” and “Washed Away” are fast and rude. Then you find “Our Better Nature” and “Running On Fumes”, very well conceived tracks. The album ends with “Year Zero” e “Glory glory”. The punkrocker is the best job in the world and our friends G.R. do it really well, this album is not a miracle but a pleasant breath of fresh air, very good level, the right amount of both melodic and rude, and we hc punk lovers can’t help being happy with their return. Buy it!

“We don’t speak
can’t make a sound
No regrets just burn it down
and that’s progress
It’s called supply and demand
As we consume ourselves to sleep” – Washed Away
