A: The Apers

-R: Hi guys, it’ a pleasure to have an interview with a band that gave and still gives a lot to the punk rock scene. So, for those who don’t know you, introduce yourselves in total freedom…
-A: Yo! We are the Apers from Rotterdam and Innsbruck, we’ve been around since 1996 and we play punkrock. So far we have released 6 full-length albums and played over a 1000 shows. We love to party and meet new people

-R: Why did you choose the name The Apers??
-A: It sounded good at the time, close enough to Ramones and many Lookout! bands that we loved. So we kept it and now we’re 18 years further. Would be weird to change it now.

-R: I know that you often come to Italy. So, do you like to play in Italy and what do you think about the italian punk rock scene? More in general, what’s the coolest place where you played in?
-A: We’ve been playing in Italia since 2000 and we love it! So many great bands and venues, labels and promoters. We have many good friends there, and our last record was recorded at TUP Studio in Brescia. Totally barzotto! Coolest place we’ve played is hard to say, but in 2004 we played CBGBs, which was pretty cool for a bunch of Ramones fanatics.

-R: What does being in tour and recording an album mean to you?
-A: They’re both cool and exhausting. We like to drink beers and party, and sometimes thats a bad combination with touring and recording. Personally I don’t like recording too much cause I’m a horrible musician, and it’s just too confronting. But I’m always happy with the result. Especially for the new record, out now on Monster Zero

-R: What about your next concerts, tours and future projects(album, split, other…)?
-A: We wanna go back to Japan, Italia, USA and France. Also, we should do some splits again, so many friends in bands. We need to tour with The Priceduifkes and DeeCracks, that would be one hell of a party!

-R: We are at the end of this interview, thank you very much and as always you can say whatever you want to finish off this interview(considerations, contacts, announcement, insults, threats,..)! See you soon guys!
-A: Thanks for your interest, and supporting our band! Our new record ‘Confetti On The Floor’ is out now on Monster Zero and we have songs about being barzotto and mozzarella! Thepunkrockdontstop!
