Interview with Well Planned Attack

They come from Northern Italy, more specifically from different parts of North-Eastern Italy. They play pop-punk and they do it well! Here for you is our interview with…Well Planned Attack!

Line-up:
Fabio: Vocals and Guitar
Tommaso: Vocals and Guitar
Manuel: Bass
Alberto: Guitar
Julien: Drums

R: Radio Punk
WPA: Well Planned Attack

R: Hi guys, welcome to Radio Punk, introduce yourselves in total freedom…
WPA: Hi! We are a pop-punk band that formed two years ago. We started to play in 4 (Fabio, Alberto, Manuel e Julien), but in September 2013 Tommaso joined us to replace Fabio while he was abroad, then Fabio returned and now we are in 5!

R: Why did you choose the name Well Planned Attack?
WPA: We took this name from the lyrics of a song called Scary by The Movielife. The main reason was the fact that if we wanted to play together we had to be a well planned attack because of the distance that divided us. However we don’t plan nothing! Ahaha

R:  What about your discography?
WPA: On May 2013 we released on Loserkid Records our first EP called “There’s I in Win”. This year we released our single with a video “Milk and Tea” which it was a b-side from “There’s I in Win” and we remade it with two lead vocalists. We are very satisfied because we received a lot of positive critiques.

R: …And about future Projects, Demos, Live shows or other initiatives?
WPA: About live shows we’ll play in April at Pop-Punk.it Fest in Milan with Man Overboard, Hostage Calm, Roam and others. We are also trying to organize some live shows in Italy with our friends Why Everyone Left. 2014 will be a quiet year for us. In 2015 we’ll release a new EP with a tour that we’ll probably announce on the last period of this year.

R: Will you change your sound in your new EP? What do we have to expect?
WPA: The genre is the same but the sound is less pop and more mature because our lives and our influences changed since our first EP.

R: You have a lot of fans in the pop-punk scene, what’s your best gig and satisfactions?
WPA: For us, the best satisfaction is when you play in distant places and there are people under the stage that sing and know your songs. We really like all the live shows that we had during this year, in particular we loved our gig in Cesena at Rockin Park when we played with our friends So Long, Astoria.

R: What are your main influences?
WPA: Our main influences are bands like Blink-182,  Hit The Lights, The Story So Far, Roam and other bands from UK or USA…Although also in Italy there are a lot of awesome bands!
