Refused + The Smudjas – Ravenna, 10/15/15

I was so excited for the last night show at Bronson in Madonna Dell’Albero (RA), that I bought the ticket one month before.
The last time I saw Refused on stage was a few years ago in Bologna (in a bigger location and with much more expectations, after the tour opening for Soundgarden) and that live was not really satisfying, but nice though since it was my first time (i have great memories of that concert).
During the concert I could hear all the fans who listened to “Freedom” saying that Refused were not the same band anymore, but I totally disagreed.
Seven years after their debut, Refused launched “Freedom”, a mature, different and powerful album. The tracks, played live, create different moods, more rock and roll and sperimental than in the past, but with the same print and strumental perfection of Refused.
With regard to the tracklist, I’d say it was pretty various. When the time for the hits came, the crowd was really focused, moshing and singing both old tracks like  “Songs To Fan The Flames Of Discontent” and more recent ones like “Freedom” and “The shape of punk to come” interluded by an unexpected Slayer cover, “Raining Blood”.
Congrats to the Bronson club, a perfect location for such a big event. Congrats to the careful fans and to the opening band The Smudjas, that took such a scaring responsability.
After the last night show and a sold out date, I can tell Refused are not changed, refused are back!
