Review: Los Fastidios – Joy Joy Joy

New album by Los Fastidios!

Saturday May 31st, we had the chance to attend the first gig of Los Fastidios’ Joy Joy Joy tour, that took place at The Factory (Castel D’Azzano – Verona), where they shared the stage with 2 promising band from Vicenza, TLA and All Coasted.

May 16th is the release date of Joy Joy Joy, the new album by Los Fastidios,, a band that needs no introduction!
On the road since 1991, formed in Verona (Italy), this band made a dent in several generations, with their unique style, mixing punk, ska, Oi!, reggae and rocksteady, offered in several languages: people from all over the word have been dancing during their tours.
Joy Joy Joy is made of 13 tracks, including a new track, 2 cover tracks and a reinterpretation of an old song of theirs. We were plunged into a ska-ish universe, with sounds that we had already had the chance to taste in their 8th album, The Sound Of Revolution, released a couple of years ago.
The lyrics are still pretty much connected with their ideals, against any kind of discrimination, hitting non-trivial topics, such as the suffering of Mapuche people, currently fighting to defend their territories. As always, dedications to their special ones make appearance in this work too.
The album was released under Kob Records (Italy), in cooperation with Fire and Flames Music (Kiel), featuring many guests: Elisa Dixan (Kob Records and tour manager of the band), Paul Heaton (The Housemartins & The Beatiful South), De Veggent (Redska), Giotanni (Ashpipe), Elf & Dirk (Slime), Fulvio & Lorenzo (Skassapunka) e Dj Koma aka Mauràs.
After only a few weeks, Joy Joy Joy is already a top-seller in Germany, thanks to its catchy songs. We immediately became fond of all the tracks, especially “Bmx Punk” and “Get The Ball Rolling”, which is now one of our daily “go-to” songs.
Do not miss this great album: Los Fastidios, after 28 years, are still able to make us dream and feel happy, just by listening to their works, carrying unique values and excitement.
