Review: Minus Hero – Evelyn

The first Ep by the Roman band Minus Hero

“Evelyn” is the first Ep by the Roman band Minus Hero and it is inspired by a Punk Emo sounds like the one in the nineties which reminds me of bands like Jawbreaker and Miles Apart/ Eversor – to quote some Italian bands. In the album, there are 4 very well played tracks, containing the right amount of sharp guitars and melodic vocal lines with that kind of style “tuned but not too much”, with a strong and substantial rhythmic section.

The band lyrics are focused on self-examining, covered by negative thoughts but that always try to come back to positivity. For the genre’s lovers and not, it is a very well done album, demonstrating that it isn’t necessary to go overseas to find valid Emotional Punk bands and that in Italy “classic” Punk Hardcore is not the only good one.
