Review: Not Now Mark – My Revolution

The old school flavor “Revolution”

My Revolution” is the name of the new EP by the young power-trio Not Now Mark, released on the 5th of October by Lostdog Records, an independent punk rock label based in Forlì.
These six fast and vintage tracks make us go back in time to when punk rock got the upper hand in the west coast thanks to the Lookout! Records.
The roaring guitars, the pop bass riffs and the rhythm section of  decisive drums show us the fact that this band has surely worn Kerplunk and Dookie out on the home stereo.
At first listening, the timbre of the voice reminded me the traits of Shane MacGowan’s (The Pogues) ones due to his particularity of being always on the razor’s edge of intonation, between precision and descendent, with an always sulky tone. It’s a unique, curious and funny feature we can notice during the listening of this EP.
The lyric video of the first single off this album, “Dear Friend”, has an enjoyable graphic design which doesn’t bore at all, and the song is definitely the leading one of the entire record, too.

Album rating: 8,5
