Review: One Night Stand – Equador

New album by One Night Stand, band from Leghorn

They just released a new video, ‘Princess’, so I rushed to write a review of ‘Equador‘, the third album by Leghorn band, One Night Stand. They have been active since 2010, when they jumped into the melodic punk rock scene with their first album, followed in 2014 by a second album.
Equador is a seven track album full of melodic hardcore and punk rock sounds, which reminds me, when I listen to it, of bands such as Lagwagon.  The sound of the album is great, and I listen carefully to it, enjoying their technique as musicians, which sometimes makes them similar to A Wilhelm Scream and Propaghandi; but they are also great in simpler songs, which anyway have a great impact.
Another great thing about One Night Stand is their ability for changing rhythm and doing breakdowns. I can imagine a live set full of jumps, with flying guitars!
They have done a great job in the studio, composing committed songs, all equally catchy and all following a simple punk rock rule! After some hearings, I decided that my favourite song is “Whispers in a Noisy Crowd”, a fucking great song! What else? Equador is an album that need to be listened, repeatedly, especially by you, punk rock kid who is reading this! Well done One Night Stand!
