Psychoanalisi Musica per Cervelli

Review: Psychoanalisi – Musica Per Cervelli

Debut album for the band Psychoanalisi

Trento fists of fury, we today listen to the Psycoanalisi debut album, “Musica Per Cervelli”. The title alone doesn’t go unnoticed, and the cover portraying a small dude digging into a brain, sure drives up curiosity. But let’s step back and try to answer the question, “Who is Psychoanalisi?”. Easy to say: Pol (already in Congegno/Centromalessere) sings and play the bass guitar, Fedri, also in Centromalessere, plays the guitar and Zeta, a metalhead passionate about Hobos and with the most badass dreadlocks ever, plays the drums. Not curious yet? Really? Let’s move on then… A reference to the movie “Big Wednesday” opens the album and begins this “Musica Per Cervelli” which is an album, as it is said in the booklet, that should be not only listened to, but watched, absorbed and so on and so forth.

The songs are pretty long since, apart from getting to the point providing some straight up powerful punk hardcore, leave room to technical virtuosity and experimental turns going from metal to stoner and alternative. It’s a nice musical mix highlighting both the musical skills of the trio and their will to try something new. The outcome is somehow powerful, refined and straight forward at the same time. The lyrics are just brilliant, sometimes cryptic, but always dealing with tons of personal and social issues in a really on point fashion. It is quite difficult to choose just one song, because each song has something to say, but those that got stuck in mind are: “Avrei Dovuto Studiare Botanica”, “Ansia Pre-Parto” – we already talked about this song presenting the video – and the amazing “La Strage”, dedicated to this “Shitty Country”. Thumbs up for Psycoanalisi and congratulations! “Musica Per Cervelli” is a complex and beautiful album and we strongly suggest you to buy it, if you can, also in order to support this great band!
