Review : Rake Off- Goin’ Mental

Rome HC is back!

The saying “Roma Hc Strikes Back” seriously fits the bill here! Rake Off, from Rome, are back with their new album, “Goin’Mental”, a thrash-sounding album made of 8 super-fast tracks! The six strings wisely blend cool riffs, which immediately make you want to dive into a circle-pit, and never cloying, well-built solos.

The bass guitar, courtesy of “Sor” Valerio, sounds “sharp” and pretty much metallic while the drumming is fast, but capable of slowing down when it fits the song. Hoarse and angry vocals yell against bigots and conformists and, featuring my trusted tattoo artist and friend Andrea -singer at Short Fuse-, takes it out on posers and pricks who pretend to be punks at Saturday nights! To put it in their terms: this album is “crazy”, and you totally need to give it a go!
