Review: FGMD – Se ti perdi tuo danno

A bit of folk from Treviso with the FGMD

First album for the folk band from Treviso, which follows the first EP Sorry, we are boozing, released this year, and which perfectly blends the folk sounds with the punk energy. Se ti perdi tuo danno contains nine tracks that mix up lyrics in Italian, English and Venetian dialect, plus many instruments and a melodic voice that sometimes becomes a kind of rap (especially in Caigo). I really appreciate the folk and traditional sounds mixed up with the spirit of punk, so I really appreciate also this album, especially songs such as Clunker and Shady Groove, which bring me back to an Irish pub.

The songs sang in Italian instead follow a more traditional Italian songwriting wave: among my favourites, you will find for sure Fiamma. Back to the English-lyrics songs, the best one is for sure Steel Neck Hen, probably the most particular song of the album.

If you, as well, need to take a break from the hard sounds, you want to listen to something lighter, which will make you dance and move without a reason, which will make you smile during your day, well, press play on this Se ti perdi tuo danno by FGMD.
